Soft Labor (For My Grandmothers)
(EN) Soft Labor (For My Grandmothers) was created for International Women’s Day, reflecting on the lives and experiences of my grandmothers. Their stories of sewing clothes for their siblings and contributing to the household economy through their sewing work became the starting point of this piece. As a third-generation maker, my own relationship with the sewing machine as both a tool and a companion in my artistic practice gains new meaning in this work. The piece reflects on intergenerational labor, care, and the often invisible forms of domestic craftsmanship passed down through women.
