Part of the first edition of ELO’S Art House Artist Residency, a one-month programme bringing together one local and one international artist to live, research, collaborate, and create in Nicosia.

Inspired by the layered character of the city’s walled centre, Nicosia: Cohabiting Absence and Presence explores the coexistence of memory and everyday life through soft textile sculptures. Stitched and padded forms transform familiar urban elements – letters, clothing, chairs, and architectural details – into tactile objects that reflect themes of absence, presence, repair, and belonging. The installation invites viewers to consider how cities are continually reshaped by those who have lived, left, arrived, and remained.
